MARIANA CORTÉS

Mariana Cortés has worked in the television creation, development, and production areas for over 25 years. She has worked in Colombia, Miami, and Spain for FTA TV Channels, cable companies, and independent production companies. Her career started as the programming director and content manager for Cenpro Televisión. She was the creative head for hits such as ¿Por qué diablos? and El Siguiente Programa.

 

During her time on Caracol Television as head of production, Pedro, El Escamoso, Club 10, and Amor a mil became successful tv shows. When she joined Grundy in Spain as head of fiction, she led the writing team that developed the adaptation of Betty La Fea and Sin Tetas No Hay Paraiso.

 

She was the showrunner for both shows. Later, as director manager and partner of Big Bang Media, she was executive producer of entertainment projects such as Minute to Win It, Forum, and Wife Swap for the Telecinco y Cuatro channel of the Mediaset group. Additionally, she was part of the team that created Homicidios and participated in the adaptation Ciega a Citas, two fiction series produced for the same TV group.

 

In 2015, she returned to Colombia and held senior positions at Discovery Channel and RCN Television as VP of Content. Mariana became an associate producer in Laberinto to create and develop original fiction premium series. She now joins Dynamo as head of development.
